Integrated Airspeed Measurement with Probe Heating
The CUAV SKYE 2 integrates a pitot tube, differential-pressure airspeed sensor, STM32F4 processor, and temperature and humidity sensing in one compact unit. DroneCAN communication supports integration with compatible ArduPilot and PX4 flight-control systems.
For your next aircraft integration, plan the probe location, power supply and CAN wiring together. The integrated layout reduces the need to arrange separate sensing modules, while controlled heating and drainage are designed to help manage probe icing and water accumulation.
Key Features
- Heated probe: Listed 35W pitot heating with CUAV M4C temperature-control strategy.
- Integrated drainage: A drainage hole is designed to help discharge accumulated water.
- Temperature compensation: Dual compensation systems are described for reducing measurement drift. This does not establish two independently heated pitot tubes.
- DroneCAN interface: For supported CAN-based autopilot integrations.
- Compact structure: Streamlined housing with an integrated probe and sensing electronics.
Listed Specifications

Power and Autopilot Compatibility
Confirm your flight controller's DroneCAN support, firmware, connector pinout, bus termination and sensor configuration before purchase. ArduPilot/PX4 support does not mean every Pixhawk or other autopilot is a direct plug-in match.
The listed 18–68V supply must not be assumed available from a flight controller's CAN accessory port. Verify how the sensor electronics and heater are powered and size the wiring and supply for the documented load. Follow the manufacturer wiring diagram rather than connecting power based on connector appearance.
Weather-Protection Limits
The source lists IP54 with conditional installation wording. Confirm the supplied configuration and required installation details before relying on that rating. This listing does not promise waterproofing, submersion protection, ice-free operation in all conditions or guaranteed flight safety.
Heating and drainage can help manage contamination, but correct probe placement, clear ports, calibration and maintenance remain essential. Confirm the full environmental operating limits for your application.
Perfect For
Experienced UAV integrators adding airspeed sensing to a compatible autopilot-equipped aircraft with a verified DroneCAN and power installation.
What's Included
One CUAV SKYE 2 airspeed sensor unit. The source does not itemize cables, mounting hardware, power adapters or other accessories. Confirm these items and the final protection configuration before ordering. Autopilot and aircraft are not included as part of this sensor listing.
Installation and Safety
- Disconnect power before wiring or mounting.
- Verify supply voltage, polarity, CAN pin assignments and termination.
- Mount the probe in a suitable airflow location following the manufacturer's guidance.
- Keep sensing ports and drainage paths unobstructed.
- Allow the heated probe to cool before handling or servicing.
- Calibrate and validate airspeed readings and failsafe behavior before flight.
